MS. Firth b. 2: These papers, with those now bound up as SC nos. 29569-70, passed from Dr. Knowler to his descendant, Anne Hyde. Her husband, the Rev. T. W. Openshaw of Bristol Grammar-school, sold the same to Wm. George, Bristol bookseller, from whom the papers were bought in 1884 by Prof. C. H. Firth
MSS. Firth c. 2-3, e. 1: Nos. 19003, 34960, 18932 in sir Thomas Phillipps' library. They formed, with one other MS., lot 381 in the Phillipps sale, April 1903
MSS. Firth c. 9-12: Once the property of president Gabriel Bernard de Rieux (see above), but not found in the sale catalogue of his library. Lot 328 in an unidentified auction catalogue. Subsequently belonged to sir Gregory Page-Turner of Battlesden, and numbered 237-40 in his or another's library. Lot 2304 in the Page-Turner sale, 1824, when purchased by sir Thomas Phillipps. Numbered 3155 in the Phillipps collection, and then lot 102 in the Phillipps 1908 sale
