Hands

( most folios ) Script: Nasta‘līq in black ink with red ink for some prose captions in item 1and certain bayts and some minimal punctuation in item 2. Scribe unknown.

( folio 174a, col b) Script: Dīwānī in black ink.

( folios 202a-b and 204b ) Script: Nasta‘līq in black ink.

Acquisition

Given to the Library by R.F.C. Schomberg, 19 January 1934.

Provenance

A note in Chaghatay on folio 1alabels it the property of one Aḥmadullāh Āḫūnd احمد الله اخوند .

A note in the margins of the diamond-shaped main text on folio 256b gives the name Mullā Brāhim ملا براهم[sic!], apparently a former owner.

A note in Persian on folio 257a labels the book as having belonged to one Jannat Bay Mufliḥ جنت بای مفلحand one ‘Aṭā'ullāh عطاء اللهin sequence. The note appears to begin to list a third name, but it is incomplete.

A poorly written note in Chaghatay repeated several times in part and in whole on folio 261alabels the book as the property of one Mullā Tuquy Āḫūnd ملا توقوي اخوند .
