Purchased by the Bodleian at Sotheby's on 4 April 1859 from the collection of Guillaume Libri. No. 925 in the sale catalogue

No. 187 in some sale of c. 1800
A document on fols iii-vi signed by Ridolfo Giorgetti and Tommaso Gelli, 25 February 1854. attests that the manuscript contains annotations by Scipione Ammirato (d. 1601). The owner of the manuscript at that time was Ottavio Gigli, who had obtained it from the Biblioteca Rinuccini at Florence

Summary
The Storie Florentine of Bernardo Segni, in 15 books, without title or author's name; with annotations by Scipione Ammirato (d. 1601), as is attested in a document on fols. iii-vi signed by Ridolfo Giorgetti and Tommaso Gelli, Feb. 25, 1854, the owner of the MS. at that time being Ottavio Gigli, who had obtained it from the Biblioteca Rinuccini at Florence. At fol. 288b is a copy (from the original) of a letter of Lorenzo di Pier-Francesco de' Medici, in which he defends his murder of Alessandro de' Medici in 1537: beg. 'S' io auessi a giustificar le mia azioni.'.
