Fine initials. fol. 2r Type initial C(icero) Subject Gold 8-line initial with white-stem interlace.
Fine border. Type full border Subject White-stem interlace with two seated putti and two grotesques. In the lower margin two putti with halos and wings support an erased coat of arms.

Summary
Letters of Cicero:
(fol. 2). To Brutus (book i) 18 letters. The rubric, the only one in the volume, is 'M. T. Ciceronis ad Acticum Epistolarum liber primus incipit. Lege feliciter.'.
2 (fol. 16v). To Quintus his brother (three books): with some disturbance of the order in book 2.
(fol. 50). To Octavius, the letter ascribed to Cicero.
(fol. 53). To Atticus (the 16 books).
(fol. 276v). A letter from Plutarch to Trajan, beg. 'Modestiam tuam noueram', followed by two pieces, added in a rather later hand, (1) a short account of Cornelia, the mother of the Gracchi, and (2) a supposed letter from her to Gaius Gracchus beg. 'Verbis conceptis').
