An Italian account of a pilgrimage from Genoa
Shelfmark
MS. Add. A. 18
Summary
An Italian account of a pilgrimage from Genoa (see fol. Iv, St. John Baptist patron of the city), or possibly Florence, by Venice to Jerusalem: the traveller left Florence on May 16, 1489. Many Latin prayers and short offices used on the journey are interspersed: at the end of the introduction the writer says '& dipoi tu lectore che leggemi non sapendo apertamente el nome di questo misero pechatore ma comincenti a questo primo lettero che trouarrai & finendo trouarrai cl nome mio': but the clue does not seem to lead beyond 'Ser Mice ...', if so far.
