Binding

Standard Merton s. xvii; sewn on five bands; formerly chained from the usual position.

Provenance

Made in England, probably not at the College long before 1600. At the head of fol. 355 is ‘prec’ xxx s.’, s. xv.

Near the head of fol. i is the James no. ‘4’ (wrongly), twice, s. xvii in. On fol. ivvis the College bookplate and ‘N. 4. 10. Art:’, s. xvii, repeated inside the front board, where it is canc. and replaced with ‘C. 1. 10 (XLIX)’ in red. ‘10’ is inked on the foredge.
