Diary from William Sterndale Bennett's second visit to Leipzig, with entries typically written every few days. Described are trips the composer took, places and people he visited and concerts he attended. Among the people he met were: Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy, Ferdinand David, Clara Novello and Clara Schumann (née Wieck).
The diary reversed includes some accounts and an essay on piano and piano playing.
