Bought from Maggs on 27 Feb. 1903 (cat. 193, no. 730).
Provenance
Written for the cathedral church of St Peter at Maguelonne near Montpellier (dedication in the kalendar, 13 April; addition, fol. 1v, 'Missale Magalonense').
'Gratianus Granierus Vicar. huius loci Podiobonensis', late 16th century (?); apparently Puéchabon, dép. Hérault (cf. Dictionnaire Topographique de Département de L'Hérault (1856), pp. 155–6), where Gratian Granier was vicar c. 1598–1652.
Given by one Granier to his nephew in 1655 (?).
Henry White J.P. (bookplate, removed); his sale at Sotheby's, 21 April 1902, lot. 1511.
