Summary
The work was intended to be divided into two parts, the first containing an account of the town and of the several colleges with notices of eminent members; the second, a collection of papal bulls, royal grants, statutes, lists of officers, etc. The materials for the first part appear to be tolerably complete; for the second, there is a mass of miscellaneous and undigested collections and notes.
The author's name is ascertained from the address on various letters, which are directed to "Mr. Laurence Howell, in Cook's court, Camomile street, London."
