Summary
At the end is written: "Finis. Decemb. 9, 1696, per Tho.—," the name being erased. In the sale catalogue of Tho. Rawlinson's library (p. 23,) the initials are given as J. B. But the following note is written on a fly-leaf at the beginning of the volume: "This MS. was compiled, as suppos'd, by Tho. Sands, A.M., prebendary of Wighton in the cathedral church of York, installed 26 July, 1690. He was, as I conceive, rector of one of Malpas' medieties, and died 1717, being also subchantor, and minister of Trinity chapell in St. Martin's-in-the-fields, London. He died at London." The list of incumbents is in many instances continued to a later date than that of the original compilation.
