File 1, fols. 1-14: Petition from the Central Council of Indian Associations in Uganda about Indian representation on the Legislative Council, 1927.
File 2, fols. 1-4 and item 1: Petition from the people and Chiefs of Busoga to the Secretary of State for the Colonies about claims to land, with related correspondence between Alan Lennox-Boyd and Lugard, 1933-1936.
File 3, fols. 1-39: Petition from the Nubian community in Uganda (the remnant of Emin Pasha's Sudanese forces left there by Lugard after the Ugandan Campaign and settled on land allotted to the King's African Rifles in 1904) to the Governor of Uganda and the Secretary of State for the Colonies, that it should be allowed to retain its separate communal status. Also related correspondence between Lugard, the Sudanese Union and its barrister, Martin Parr, and Sir Philip Mitchell, 1936-1941.
File 4, fols. 1-22: Petition of grievances of the Young Busoga Association and Abatake, sent to Lugard with copies of their correspondence with the Ugandan Government and of Lugard's letter advising them to co-operate with the administration, 1944. Also a letter from Sir Charles Dundas, Governor, about his steps to reform the administration in Busoga, 1944.
