Title
'I. vanden Vondels Verloste Ierusalem van Torquato Tasso', a translation into Dutch prose by the poet Vondel
Shelfmark
MS. D'Orville 557
Summary
The first few stanzas have the Italian original also copied at the side. There are many corrections and substitutions in the hand of the scribe, such as would be made by an author or corrector rather than a copyist, but the hand is not at all strikingly similar to the many published facsimiles of Vondel's hand, and the work is unknown to Unger who wrote a Bibliographie van Vondels Werken (1888). Engravings are inserted from the 1580 (Genoa) edition of the Giernsalemme Liberata.

written in about the middle of the 17th cent.
