'A Perambulation of Surrey anno Domini 1673 (left unfinished). By Mr. John Aubrey, R.S.S.' revised up to 1692. This work is in the same style as MS. Aubrey 3, with the same want of arrangement, but with arms, views, etc.:
Aubrey was appointed by John Ogilby 'his Majesty's Cosmographer', to be his deputy for the survey of Surrey on May 2, 1673 (fol. 221)
At fol. 28 is a letter to Aubrey from John Evelyn, Feb. 8, 1675/6
Fol. 1 is the old cover of MS. Ash. Mus. d. 1, and contains a nearly complete draught of an indenture in 1684, between William Paggen, merchant, and John Hardmian, merchant, of James River, Virginia, by which the latter agrees to be the exclusive agent of the former in Virginia
