Summary
This volume comprises of two parts:
Papers relating to the negotiations of William Herlle, or Herle, in East Friesland in 1584 as agent for Q. Elizabeth.
Papers relating to the negotiations of Jacques de Segur, Sieur de Pardaillan, with various Protestant princes, as envoy from the King of Navarre, in 1584.
On the former vellum cover of the book was the following inscription, now attached to the present binding: "To the Queenes most excellent Ma. my negociation in East Friseland, 1584."
The following heading is prefixed to part II. in Herle's hand on fol. 154: "Monsieur de Seguris' negociations in Denmark and Germany; part whereof I received in Holland in July, 1584, and part in Embden, before and after the commyng of the sayd Seguris thither in September following."
