Summary
A few of these letters are addressed to the family as a whole, or to her younger daughters. By far the majority are to Hodgkin. The dating offered is approximate as very few letters carry more than an indication of day and month. Comprises:
2) letters from Sudan and British School of Archaeology, Jerusalem, 1920s (A.100)
3) letters from Geldeston, Jerusalem, Jerash, Nablus, Constantinople, 1930-1931 (A.101)
4) letters, 1932 (A.102)
5) letters, 1933, including references to 'Mr Bernal', 'Mr Waddington', Hodgkin's help with proof-reading, Research Fellowship at Somerville, Molly's thoughtful letters of advice to her daughter on her emotional relations with Waddington, Christmas cheque £5 for the four girls (A.103) (see also MS. Eng. c. 5580/5 and MS. Eng. c. 5581/8 in the main Hodgkin papers)
6) letters, ?1935, includes letters from Joan Crowfoot, in Palestine with her parents (A.104)
7) letters, 1937 includes a letter from Dorothy to her mother, 3 Mar.; and references to engagements of Joan and Denis, Dorothy and Thomas, wedding arrangements (A.105)
8) letters, 1938, includes references to Hodgkin's pregnancy, arrangements for birth, Molly Crowfoot's research on ivories and pottery (A.106)
9) letters, 1939, includes references to birth of Joan Payne's daughter Julian, and Hodgkin's rheumatism (A.107)

12) letters, 1944-?1947, including several letters to Thomas on his application for Oxford Extra-Mural post, 1945 General Election, Dorothy's rheumatism, comments on an article on the Sudan, post-war visit to villa at San Remo (A.110)
13) letters, 1950-1957, includes references to Hodgkin's gift of £500 for the publication of John Crowfoot's book (see MS. Eng. c. 7931/5), award to Hodgkin of Royal Medal and her mother's journey to London to see her receive it (Ferry p.279). Last letter (undated) refers to Hodgkin's trip to Scandinavia in Mar. 1958 with requests for photographs etc on ancient textiles from contacts in Scandinavia. Mrs Crowfoot died in 1957 (A.111)
