MS. Douce 71
Summary
A strip of parchment 27 x 4 1/2 inches, folded, with the following on different sides:
A Runic calendar such as are found on clog-almanacs, with names and symbols of saints, etc., in Latin, and notes of the year 1432 by different eras.
Pictures of the usual occupations of each month, and representations of the sun.
There is rude colouring, and the form 'Gheertrudis' and some of the saints point to the Netherlands.
Fols., i, ii, 4-end, are blank paper.
In 1840 a manuscript fragment of a similar calendar, containing only Sept.-Dec., was in the volume: and a printed calendar of Jaspar Laets for 1533 was removed from it in 1882, and is now Douce L. 646.
