Custodial history
When Lydyat died in 1646 his manuscripts passed to Dr. John Lamphire, who died in 1688.
Acquisition
Dr. William Coward, whose mother was a sister of Dr. Lamphire, presented all the manuscripts to the Bodleian in 1695, except for one which was presented to the library by Degory Whear (d. 1647).
