Shelfmark
MS. Douce 152
Summary
Preceded by a French calendar (fol. 1), and followed by:
the Hours of the Cross (fol. 50)
'Heures du Sainct Esprit' (fol. 53)
the Penitential Psalms with litany (fol. 56)
'Vigilles des mors' (fol. 67)
suffrages (fol. 82)
Stt. Firminus ('Fremin', two bishops), Honoratus, Fuscianus, and (fol. 83) Sabrius are prominent. The numerous miniatures are in a rough but characteristic style, and every margin has in its ornament either grotesques or types of men in various employments. The symbols 'G. M.', 'G.Y.', 'b. 1.' and the motto 'Je me plains' are common, and 'G. b.' is found. The arms on fols. 38, 66v, 77 (cf. 20v) are perhaps those of Maréchal.
