Leicester, Leicestershire, Augustinian abbey of St Mary the Virgin de Pratis (?) : "Liber ... ecclesie beate Marie ... Leycestr' anno regni regis Henrici octavi [decimo deleted] vicesimo octavo" (fol. [307]v, s. xvi). (MLGB3: evidence from an ex-libris inscription or note of gift to an institution).
"Wyllm. Weston" (inside cover, s. xvi). "Liber Hugonis Weston Ecclesiae Carleton rectoris 1572" (fol. i recto). "Liber Willelmi Weston rectoris ecclesiae parochialis Carleton' Curle[ewe]" (fol. 1r, s. xvi). "Liber domini Roberti Weston de dono domini Thome Thorpe et Iohannis Moore executorum domini Thome Peeke quondam rectoris ecclesie de Burton' Overey ... ad quem quidem presens liber pertinebat ..." Nichols gives William Weston as rector of Carleton Curlew in 1534 -- Robert Weston 1560 -- Hugh Weston 1606. Hugh was instituted 1576 (Linc. Ep. Records, p. 35). Medieval binding; two nailmarks on end cover. (MLGB3)
