Richard Stearns, a summer intern working on the Mandate for Reform report, used information he had gathered for an M.Litt dissertation at Balliol. The report was also the subject of the Berkeley PhD dissertation and first monograph Quiet Revolution: The Struggle for the Democratic Party and the Shaping of Post-Reform Politics, by Byron Shafer (Oxford's first Mellon Professor of American Government).
