At the beginning of the volume (fol. 1) is inserted an unsigned copy of a letter to a nobleman abroad, dated 29 Jun 1734, about some papers of Mr. Mackulloch's with reference to accounts with Earl and Lady Nithsdale, and introducing Mr. Mitchel, advocate, eldest son of Sir John Mitchel of Shetland.
