Summary
By James Batterton, as it appears from the following inscription on the cover:—"James Batterton's work in Christ Church Hospital Thomas Fitzgerald, on board the ship Carnarvon, capt. Josiah Thwaites, June 29, 1720, latitude 17° 30" south. Bought of Mr. Thomas Shewell." The name of Thomas Shewell is written on the first page. On the last fly-leaf at the end is this memorandum: "Nov. the 3rd 1719 Entered as 4th mate on board the Carnarvon."
