'Letters between William Cuming, M.D., and Richard Gough, esq., chiefly relating to Hutchins's History of Dorsetshire: with others on miscellaneous subjects.' There are about 197 letters from Cuming to Gough, 1770-87 (fol. 6, etc.), about 112 drafts of letters from Gough to Cuming, 1770-87 (fol. 8, etc.). There are also about thirty-two letters from Cuming to John Nichols (1773-5; fols. 10, 52, etc.), Emmanuel Mendes Da Costa (1776-83; fol. 383, etc.), and others, with ten replies (some copies) from Nichols, and sixteen, all unsigned, from Da Costa. There are formal documents about Hutchins's Dorset at fols. 20, 362.
