Summary
Folder 1: Bound manuscript 'History of the Kings of England up to 1803', supposedly prepared for Anna Maria, wife of 3rd Duke of Newcastle, for the use of her daughter Charlotte, and later for [her grandson?] Henry, n.d. [c.1803-1816].
Folder 2: Leather bound miniature book containing Christian precepts, inscribed 'For my dearest, my own Harriet', 1833.
Folder 3: Amateur manuscript copy of Oliver Goldsmith, 'Dr. Goldsmith's Celebrated Elegy of that Glory of Her Sex, Mrs. Mary Blaize', 1808, with hand coloured drawings, c.1830s.
Folder 4: Leather bound notebook containing a diary, notes, autographs and dates of family members, given to Laetitia Marian Cole when she was nine years old, 1847, and pocket book belonging to Laetitia Marian Cole, containing a detailed journal for August 1855 [visit to Paris], newspaper cuttings and engravings, 1855-1865. Also contains notes by Peter Opie on the journal, presumably for an exhibition catalogue, c.1969.
Folder 5: Manuscript 'The Autobiography of a Doll: A physio-cum-psycho-dollogical narrative', with pen-and-ink illustrations, 1879.
Folder 6: Three miniature books 'Chops Books', containing handwritten stories and illustrations, Vols. 1-2 inscribed 'To Mr Knaster, from C.B.' and 'To Mr Knaster, from A.C.B., c.1916; notebook containing draft of a boy's public school story 'School days at Wayland House' by D.B. Day, c.1920.
