Penwork initials. (Pächt and Alexander i. 495)

Running heads in red; rubrics and framing/highlighting; chapters numbered in red roman numerals; paraphs; occasional brackets in blue.

Binding

Brown tanned calf over laminated pulpboard for Abp. Laud, 1637–1639.

Acquisition

Given to the Bodleian as part of his third donation, dispatched on 28 June 1639.

Provenance

Mainz, Charterhouse St Michael: 15th-century ex-libris inscription at the lower margin of fol. 4r.

William Laud, 1573–1645: his ex-libris inscription, dated 1638, at the lower margin of fol. 4r.
