Summary
Music apparently from Leipzig, 17th cent., with the exception of one English piece (item 3) and one German piece (item 5) copied by a German hand.
(fols. 1-26) J. Schelle. 'Magnificat a 10 e 20'. 2 trebles, alto, tenor, bass, soli and ripieni, 2 violins, 2 violas, 2 cornettini, 3 trombones, organ. Extra organ part copied by the same hand as MS. Mus. Sch. c. 29, fols. 58-60.
(fols. 28-33) Joh. Rosenm[üller]. Nisi Dominus. Treble, alto, tenor, bass, 5 instruments, basso continuo. Score.
(fols. 34-48) Praise ye the Lord. Counter-tenor, tenor, bass, cello/bass, organ parts only. Probably copied by the same hand as item 2.
(fols. 49-67) J. S[chelle]. Salve. In Festo Johannis Bapt. Concerti a 16. '84'. 2 trebles, alto, 2 tenors, bass, clarino (see note on fol. 49v), 2 violins, 2 violas, 2 cornettini, 3 trombones, basso continuo.
(fols. 69-84) J. S[chelle]. Durch Adams Fall. Dom 14 post Trinitatis. Conc. a 14. 2 Tr., Alto, T, B, 2 vlns., 2 vlas., 2 cornettini, 3 trombones, organ. In same hand as item 4, except bass.
(fols. 86-89) Laudate Dominum omnes gentes. Soprano, 2 violins, organ. Copied by three hands,including that of items 4-5.
(fols. 91-97) Confitebor [lacking voice part], 2 violins, 2 violas, viola da gamba or bassoon, continuo. Fol. 97 is bound between fols. 91 and 92).
(fols. 98-102) Sig. Jean Schell. Ah quam multa sunt peccata. a 3. Alto, 2 violins, cembalo.
(fols. 104-122) S. Knüpfer. De profundis a 10 & 14. 2 trebles, alto, tenor, bass soli and ripieni, 4 iolas, bassoon, violone, organ.
