Summary

The Gospel according to st. Luke in the Latin version of st. Jerome, with the usual prologue, the interlinear gloss of Walafrid Strabo, and the glossa ordinaria of Anselm of Laon. There is a gap between cap. 2, verse 17, to cap. 6, verse 7, where one quire is missing (fols. 13-14).

Custodial history

'Liber sancte Marie de Bridelington, qui hunc alienauerit, anathema sit' (early 14th cent.) and 'Lucas glosatus littera D.' (16th cent.) are on fol. 2. The type of hand is similar to that of MS. Lat. Theol. (d. 17, which was written at the Augustinian priory of Bridlington in Yorkshire. 'C. Fairfax ex dono carissimi fratris magistri Henrici Fairfax, 1655' (fol. 1). There are also some bibliographical notes by Fairfax(ib.).
