Summary

Comprises:

(fol. 1) Latin hexameter proverbs or common places, arranged roughly in alphabetical order of subjects: beg. 'Ascensus . Virtutum gradibus scandunt celestia iusti': ends imperfect in 'Sciencia.'

(fol. 13) English proverbs with translations into Latin hexameters, arranged very roughly alphabetically, with some Latin proverbs: imperfect at beginning, beg. 'He that doth as can . blame hym no man . Non est culpandus faciens quod scit, sed amandus.'

(fol. 32) A short piece on Astronomy: beg. 'Post tractatum de ymagine mundi.'

(fol. 36) Colophon:-- 'Explicit communis loquela linguagij Latini secundum grammaticos', short sentences: beg. 'Auete, pater reuerende.'

(fol. 54a) A treatise on metres: beg. 'Ecce colorum subtilitas in arte versificandi': part of it is 'de metro Ymnarii.'

(fol. 77v) Colophon:'Explicit compilacio magistri Johannis de Brigges de arte dictandi': beg. 'In libro rethor[i]co notandum.'

(fol. 89) Colophon:'Explicit Tractatus de dictamine': beg. 'De dictaminis consequenter arte est breuiter dicendum. Primo videamus': this appears to be a form of Bernard de Meung's abridgement of the Ars dictaminis by Bernardus Sylvester (?).
