Summary

'Rich World/Poor World Meal', n.d. [c.1981]. Consists of instructions for holding a meal, with resources for thinking about the causes of hunger. This is a variation on two earlier 'Brass Tacks' information sheets produced with Christian Aid, available in 'Brass Tacks: Youth Activity Pack' (MS. Oxfam DEV/7/1/3).

'The Real Aid Game', 1982. With notes prepared by John Clark, the objective of the game is to illustrate what affects the UK government's Overseas Development Administration's (ODA) funding decisions. Linked to Oxfam's Campaign for Real Aid.

'The Harvest Game', n.d. [c.1980s]. This is a simpler version of 'The Farming Game', suitable for 7-11 year olds

'Survival', devised by Geoff Barford, Margot Brown, Pete Davis, Ros Dixon and Terry Wain, and published by Oxfam Education Department, n.d. [c.1980s]. The game was aimed at primary school children and was intended to provide awareness of the interdependence of peoples and societies throughout the world.

'Concejo: a group role exercise about city planning in Peru', 1984. Devised for upper secondary or adult level participants by Oxfam's Youth and Education Department with text written by Don Harrison

'Deadlines. Media Bias About the Third World. A Simulation for Secondary Schools', published by Oxfam Youth and Education Department, 1984

'Manomiya game pack', 1984. A role play, published by Returned Volunteer Action (RVA) and sponsored by Oxfam and other agencies. It was designed to raise awareneness of the role of women in development in Africa,

'The Rice Bowl of Tamil Nadu', 1984. A simulation game devised by Sandie Maitland for Oxfam, to enable players to empathise with people affected by unseasonable floods

'Gaining Ground: a game about land and harvest', n.d. [c.1984]. A board game devised by Brian Wren, and set in East Africa, it is about the struggle between an international food corporation and the local farming community. A handwritten note with the folder, says that this game replaces 'Bother' no 128 (MS.Oxfam DEV/8/3). Includes a new cover sheet, reprinted, 1992

' "It Shouldn't Have Happened". A simulation game which examines why, when there is more than enough food in the world to feed everyone, tens of thousands of people died of hunger in Ethiopia in 1984-'85', by Oxfam Education Department, n.d. [c.1985]. The game was aimed at players aged 16 and over.

'The Oxfam Water Simulation Game', n.d. [c.1985-early 1990s]. Developed by Hilary Strudwick, Oxfam Education and Jane Vellacott, Mountbatten School, Hemel Hempstead

'The Farming Game', revised edition, 1986. Produced by the Youth and Education Department, this was formerly 'The Poverty Game' (MS.Oxfam. DEV/7/4/1)

'Global Warning: a simulation in which young people show politicians how to do things properly', 1993. Written by Terry Deary, Chris Mason and Sarah Wilkinson for Year 9 pupils, and produced by Newcastle Development Education Unit and Oxfam Education

'The Coffee Chain Game', an activity on trade for participants aged 13/14 years and upwards, two versions, 1994 and 2005
