Small softback pocket field notebook - inside the cover is the following inscription, added later by Nicholson: 'First original fieldbook used by EMN as ornithologist on the Oxford University British Guiana expedition 1929...August-Sept'.
In pencil: in the hands of Nicholson and Basil Nicholson. Notes on bird sightings, roughly written, many entries only partly legible.
