File 1, fols. 1-75 and item 1: Personal correspondence between Lugard, his brother Edward, Lady Lugard, W. Grant, Sir Bernard Bourdillon, Sir Philip Mitchell, Stephen Bagge, W.G. MacLeod of Barclay's Bank Kampala, Reverend R.G. Heawood (Kampala), S. Simpson, Martin Parr, Charles Turner and Ferdinand Joelson, with a copy of a letter from the Bishop of East Equatorial Africa about Lugard's impartiality when in Uganda, 1893-1944.
File 2, fols. 1-53: Correspondence with Ugandan dignitaries, including the Kabaka of Buganda, the Katakiro of Buganda, Zakaria Kisito Kisingiri, the Omukama wa Toro, the Mkama of Busoga, Hosea Nyabongo and the ex-Pokino of Buddu, 1907-1937.
File 3, fols. 1-31: Correspondence with Sir Albert Cook of the Church Missionary Society Hospital, Kampala, about personal matters, the Literary and Scientific Society of Uganda and about Cook's book for which Lugard was asked to provide a foreword, 1932-1943.
File 4, fols. 1-14: Correspondence with the secretary of the Uganda Society about the foreword to Cook's book and with the curator of the Kampala Museum about donating material to its collection, 1941-1945.
File 5, fols. 1-43: Correspondence with Margery Perham, Sir Philip Mitchell, the Katakiro and the Kabaka of Buganda about the restitution of the war drum given to Lugard when he was serving in Uganda, with a resumé of the matter by Reginald Nicholson, 1936-1937.
File 6, fols. 1-53: Correspondence and other material connected with the celebration of the 50th anniversary of Lugard's arrival in Kampala and of the 50th anniversary of the declaration of the Protectorate, 1940-1943.
