Folder 1: Papers relating to the Symposium 'Art and Morals' at Smith College, Northampton, April 1953. Conference programme; letter to Edgar Wind by Emily Genauer, May 1953; letter to Edgar Wind by W.H. Auden, Oct 1953, with typescripts of poem 'The Truest Poetry is for the Most Feigning (For Edgar Wind)'; printed version of the poem; newspaper articles relating to Auden and his poetry, 1996. Photocopies only, original papers are in MS. Wind 271 (old box I, 11).

Folder 2: 'Science and Freedom': Correspondence relating to the conference 'Wissenschaft und Freiheit', organised by the Congress for Cultural Freedom, 1953, correspondents including Nicolas Nabokov and Rudolf Pechel; invitation, conference programmes; comments and press cuttings; transcripts of closing remarks, including Edgar Wind's contribution, as published in the conference report, 1954 (in German), and a copy of the English version of the conference Report, 1955. Also includes a souvenir booklet 'Hamburger Gästebuch' signed by the conference participants, and some notes by Margaret Wind. [I, 12, i; WIND 14]

Folder 3: Programme of Europäisches Forum Alpbach/Neunte Internationale Hochschulwochen Alpbach, Aug-Sep 1953; excepts from Alstertaler Diskussionen, Dec 1953, including recollections by Bruno Snell and Edgar Wind of the events in Germany in 1933; letter by the dean of the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Hamburg inviting Edgar Wind to be visiting professor, and Edgar Wind's refusal, May 1955.
