Papers and campaign speeches relating to the Warrington by-election, 1981. Includes Social Democratic Party (SDP) paper "Warrington By-Election 1981", draft speech on the economy by Roger Liddle, speech on youth unemployment, and transcript of a speech given by Roy Jenkins at an SDP meeting in Warrington.

Reports relating to the Warrington by-election, 1964-1981. Includes a report containing the Warrington Constituency General Election results from 1964-1979, the Warrington Constituency County Council Election results from 1981, draft speech on employment and economic policy, and background papers on Warrington industrial base, employers and unemployment.

Correspondence and meeting notes relating to the A1 Liberal Alliance meetings, 1983-1984. Correspondents include Michael Carver and Andrew Phillips, among others.
