Transcripts of and extracts from state papers of the 14th to 17th centuries, collected by John Selden for use in his treatise on the sovereignty of the seas, Mare clausum (London, 1635).

Fols. 9-14, 17-18 are in Selden's hand. At fols. 30-3 are two letters from Sir Edward Guldeford to Edward VI, giving an account of actions of foreign ships in waters off Rye, [1551], n.d.
