The correspondence relates to discussions over whether Powell was likely to seek selection by a constituency association as a Conservative candidate and whether or not the Party should endorse his candidature should he be selected, following his advice to voters during the February 1974 General Election to vote for the Labour Party. Includes handwritten pencil draft of memorandum considering the Party's options from William Whitelaw, Party Chairman to Heath, dated 02/07/1974.
