Summary
Letters almost entirely written to Anthony Wood, 1657-95, chiefly on the biography of Oxford writers, some with draughts of the replies. In the following list some entries have been for convenience inserted from MSS. Wood F. 46-51, Ashm. Mus. c. 1, the whole series forming the bulk of the papers on which Wood's Atheme Oxonienses is based. They do not however satisfactorily allow of summary treatment.
The chief writers are:
St. George, Henry (6), 1688-92 (fol. 340).
Sheldon, Frances (5), 1684-7 (fol. 207).
Sheldon, Ralph (107), 1673-84 (fol. 21).
Sherburne, sir Edward (33), 1675-95, with pedigree of Sherburne (fol. 221).
Sherlock, Richard (3), 1671-2 (fol. 216).
Smith, dr. Thomas, of Magd. Coll., Oxford (5), 1689-91 (fol. 317).
Smith, William, of Univ. Coll., Oxford (1), June 13, 1693 (fol. 325).
Somner, William (1), March 21, 1661/2 (fol. 307).
Sprigge, William (5), 1660-3 (fol. 329).
Strachan, William (12 ?), 1691-2 (fol. 355).
