On fol. 1v is an initial in plum red and blue on a gold ground infilled with scrolled acanthus leaves and joined to borders of foliage along the top and left sides.
There is also a smaller initial in gold on a plum red and blue ground.
In the middle of the page, in a roundel formed of concentric circles of blue, gold, and red, a miniature of Adam and Eve being tempted by the serpent.
Other initials are gold flourished in brown or blue in red.
Acquisition
Chosen as one of the hundred manuscripts bequeathed to the Bodleian by Lyell in 1948.
