Bequeathed by Moore to the Bodleian ('Donations: manuscripts', Oxford University Gazette (28 Feb. 1917), p. 330).
Provenance
'Fine alla terza canzona di maggio a di 18 1463 [corrected from 1453]' (fol. 111r).
Pierantonio di Benedetto Buonaparte, 16th century; the blank space left by the scribe for a rubric has been inscribed by an early 16th-century hand 'Conuiuio di dante alighieri fiorentino | di pierantonio di benedetto. | buona parte | e delli amici parenti e di tutti quelli | che ferre uolessino seruire' (fol. 2r), and the arms of the Bonaparte family of Florence are added in the space left for a coat of arms in the original decoration (fol. 2r).
Dr. E. Moore, rector of St. Edmund Hall, Oxford, inscribed 'E Moore | S Edmund Hall | Oxford | June 1880' (fol. 1r) (cf. MS. Ital. e. 6), inscribed by him with a note and partial family tree of Pierantonio Buonaparte (fol. 1v); bequeathed by him to the Bodleian, and given a provisonal Summary Cataloguenumber (now referring to a different manuscript), with a paper label printed 'S.C. 37409' in the top left corner of the upper pastedown.
