Summary
Followed by canticles (fol. 159v), a litany (fol. 192), and prayers. There is a profusion of well-painted full-page miniatures and grotesque borders and capitals, and in the calendar miniatures of the employments suitable for each month. The arms, or three lions rampant sable, are on fol. 4, and with variations elsewhere: and other shields occur occasionally. The calendar is obviously Flemish (two Floreberts in red, Apr. 19 and Nov. 2: Bertulf in red on Feb. 5: Ermbert in red on Apr. 30, etc.). See Waagen, Treasures of Art in Great Britain (1854), iii. 95.
