The church's linen garment; that is, the original and universality of the colour, stuff, and fashion of it, all historically deduced out of secular and ecclesiastical antiquity; wherein other ancient habits both of the church and commonwealth are upon this occasion inquired into, by William Watts, D. D.

Ad calc. voluminis legitur, manu ipsius auctoris, "Finisht on Whitsun Eve, 1646, on which morning the lords sent out to sir Thomas Fairfax to treate about deliuering up Oxford."
