Decoration

Red and blue initials with ornamention and fleuronnée penwork in green and violet, by a flourisher also found in MS. Laud Misc. 260 and Wiesbaden, LB, Hs. 21.

Binding

Laudian binding, 1637–1639.

Acquisition

Part of his third donation to the Bodleian, 1639.

Provenance

1464 on fol. 101 is probably the date of writing, rather than the date of the text, and covers fols. 1–101 Fols. 101 col. 2 to 151, with different script and somewhat plainer decoration, may have been written later, but a fifteenth century contents list (fol. 1v) includes items 1–3 above (see Watson).

Attributed to the Eberbach scriptorium (‘probably’) by Palmer.

Identifiable as S 22 in the Eberbach library catalogue of 1502.
