Folder 1: Papers relating to undergraduate studies at Balliol College, Oxford, 1955-1959. Includes correspondence relating to scholarships, early release from National Service and admission to Balliol College; notes, correspondence and newspaper cuttings relating to university examinations (Moderations 1957, Greats 1959); university certificates, such as certificate of matriculation, 1955, and degree certificate Bachelor of Arts, 1960; Balliol College memorabilia, such as exercise book 'Freshmen's Essays Michaelmas 1955 Thomas F.R.G. Braun', societies' membership lists, letters and notes from college friends, verse in Greek 'ANTIΓΟNΗ', Oxford Union Society membership card. Also includes handwritten list by Konrad Braun 'Awards acquired by Thomas' listing Thomas Braun's scholarships, prizes and awards, 1947-1959.

Folder 2: 'Research & Employment 1959-63' - original folder containing papers relating to postgraduate studies at Merton College, Oxford, early academic career and election as fellow of Merton College, 1959-1963. Includes correspondence about postgraduate scholarships and applications for junior research fellowships, references, applications for lectureships; degree certificate 'Master of Arts', 1962; correspondence relating to employment as Assistant Lecturer at University of Leicester, 1962-1963; notes and correspondence relating to application and election as tutor and fellow of Merton College, 1963.

Folder 3: 'Gratulationsbriefe' - letters of congratulation by family and friends on Thomas Braun's Bachelor of Arts degree, 1959, and appointment as tutor and fellow of Merton College, 1963.

Folder 4: Projected books, 1969-1970. Proposals for publications and correspondence with publishers relating to 'History Atlas - Ancient Rome', 'Ancient Persia', 'Ancient History Maps', 'Achaemenid Persia and the Greeks'.
