Summary
Made up of three MSS (117 leaves, in double columns except the third MS.), comprising:
(fol. 1). Miscellaneous legal pieces almost all relating to England, among which are:
(fol. 2) 'Isti sunt Episcopi sub Romano Pontifice, qui non sunt in alterius prouincia constituti'
(fol. 5) Forms of Latin letters, charters, and briefs, with a preface which beg. 'In omnibus litteris cuicumque et a quocumque transmittantur': among the charters are an agreement about the gild merchant at Reading, Feb. 3, 1253/4
(fols. 16v, cf. 37) several statutes
(fol. 20v) a perambulation of Berkshire.
Also comprises:
(fol. 40). 'Incipit tractatus de legibus & consuetudinibus regni Anglie tempore H[enrici] regis secundi conpositus iusticie gubernacula tenente ... R[anulpho] de Glanuilla ...', with lists of chapters: fols. 85 - 6 are perhaps out of place. At fol. 91av 'incipit tractatus de legibus & consuetudinibus Anglie tempore magni regis Willelmi', the Anglo-Saxon laws in Latin, followed by small miscellaneous pieces, partly in French.
(fol. 98). '[C]es sunt les Brefs le rei pleydez o les en cuppements ...', a Registrum brevium or forms of pleading in French, followed by short pieces, including a French hymn to Christ (beg.'Cuard est ke amer nose', fol. III) and a French and Latin macaronic poem about a maid (beg. 'En may quant vit esoil efruit parens natura parere', fol. IIIv).
