Miscellaneous antiquarian notes chiefly from record sources and pedigrees relating for the most part to Yorkshire:

Fol. 3. Extracts from 'Mr [William] Burton's description of Leicestershire, published in print, 1622'

Fol. 13. church notes at Warrington, 1625, 'with traditions respecting sir John Butler of Bewsey', i.e. Bewsy in Warrington, co. Lancs., and (fol. 21) notes from a 17th-cent. collection of Yorkshire wills

Fol. 36. a brief history, with genealogy and notes, of the Percies, from a manuscript 'in the ancient secretary hand' lent by Henry Lilley to John Archer and by him to Dodsworth, July 3, 1625, followed (fol. 45) by notes from printed sources

Fol. 54v. 'Discourse of Dr Tunstall, bishop of Durham, with King Henry 8 on the pleasures of Yorkshire', of which another copy is in no. 5070, printed by Hearne

Fol. 76. original letters to Dodsworth from his brother Edward, dated at Badsworth, Jan. 21, 1629, on family affairs, and (fol. 97) from William Young of Methley, dated Apr. 20, 1620, concerning a chartulary of Heyley abbey, in the possession of mr. Padmore

Fol. 97v. epitaphs by Charles Best on Henry iii of France and on queen Elizabeth

Fol. 105v. monumental inscriptions in St. Martin's-in-the-Fields, Oct. 31, 1624, as specified in Hunter's Three Catalogues, art. 30
