(fol. 4). Monumenta, part 3, containing sepulchral monuments, roads and dykes, pavements, coins, etc., with many plans, and letters from James Tyrrell of Shotover, Nov. 1692 (fol. 51), Thomas Guidott, July 20, 1689 (fol. 118), Andrew Paschal, two, 1689 (fol. 120);

(fol. 150). Monumenta, part 4, Στρώματα, including 'Chronologia Architectonica', 1671, an early and interesting attempt to discover a sequence of styles (fol. 152), (Chronologia Aspidologica', notes on escutcheons (fol. 180), 'Chronologia Graphica', a study of palæography, 1689 (fol. 185), illustrated by:

two leaves of an 11th cent. Vulgate, the first leaf bearing a list of capitula xcii-cxix, the second Ecclesiasticus iii. 18 - iv. 7;

a letter from John Whitson of Bristol, Dec. 6, 1621;

a record of sales of land by Thomas Pope of Hartlip in Kent (early 16th century), etc., 'Chronologia Vestiaria', a history of costume (fol. 197), notes on 'Nouuelles', prices, weights and measures, etc. (fol. 207), with a copy of an Assize of Beer and Bread from the Red Book of Bath, 1428 (fol. 216, cf. 226), and a paper on 'the proportions of the several languages, ingredients of our English', 1692/3 (fol. 238).
