Written in good gothic bookhands, by at least three scribes.
Decoration
Red initials with some penwork.
Binding
Black leather over pasteboards; the upper cover stamped in gilt with the Coke crest; the spine lettered in gilt 'PETRI DE RIGA | AURORA | SEU | EXPOSITIO | HISTORICA | ET | ALLEGORICA | LIBRORUM | SACRÆ | SCRIPTIRÆ | VERSIBUS | ELEGIACIS | ET QUANDOQUE | LEONINIS | EXPRESSA' and, at the bottom, 'MS. | SÆC. XIII'.
Provenance
Given by Battista de Lignamine to the Canons of S. Giovanni in Verdara, Padua , in 1455(inscription in red at the end of the text, fol. 214v, partly erased; cf. MS. Holkham misc. 6, etc.).
With the bookplate of ' THOMAS WILLIAM COKE ' (1754–1842); formerly Norfolk, Holkham Hall, MS. 420.
