Summary
Incomplete draft of an early biography of William Sterndale Bennett by his son J.R. Sterndale Bennett (1847-1928), with many pages either completely or partially cut out. A note on a flyleaf reads: "This early attempt at 'The Life' which I did finish, in a 2nd vol., was made very many years before I set seriously to work to write 'The Life'." His The Life of William Sterndale Bennett was eventually published in 1907.
