Binding
Typical 19th-century Holkham binding: polished brown leather over pasteboards, the upper cover with the gilt crest of the Coke family; the spine lettered in gilt 'ISIDORI | JUNIORIS | CHRONICA | ET | ETYMOLOGIARUM | LIBER || MS. | SÆC.XII.', and with the number '410' at the bottom.
Provenance
Given by Johannes de Lignamine, bishop of Concordia , to the Lateran regular canons of S. Giovanni di Verdara, Padua , in 1455: inscribed in pink at the end of the text: 'Hunc librum donauit Reuerendus dominus ioannes de legnamine episcopus concordiensis Congregationi canonicorum regularium laternaensium ita ut imprimis sit ad usum dictorum canonicorum Christo militantium in monasterio sancti Iohannis in viridario padue quare omnes deum pro eius anima deuote precari meminerint M ccccºlvº.' (fol. 184v).
