(pp. 1-23) petitions to Anthony Cooper, 1st Earl of Shaftesbury, as Lord Chancellor, 1672-1673, copied into the volume by Locke as Secretary of Presentations;
(pp. 27-191) a list of books entered alphabetically by author or title, up to 1691;
(in blank spaces between the entries for books) medical, chemical and alchemical notes and prescriptions copied mainly in the hand of Sylvester Brownover, with additions and corrections in Locke's hand.
