The copies and drafts of letters and literary pieces on fols. 104-37 are addressed to Alexander Cozens, 1777-84, n.d.; fol. 131 is reproduced in Index of English literary manuscripts, plate 4. They are accompanied by pen-and-ink drawings of (fol. 139) ibexes and a leopard (with an inscription in Persian, probably a medical recipe) and (fol. 139v) two musicians and an embracing couple, given to Cozens by the artist 'Agamine the Persian at Petersburg 1730' (inscription in Beckford's hand). Both drawings are reproduced in Kim Sloan, Alexander and John Robert Cozens, the poetry of landscape (New Haven & London, 1986), plates 84-5.
